The timing of this excellent article could not be better as this morning the Bank of England announced its weekly repo to UK banks soared from £83.7bn last week to a massive new record of £97.9bn Given this repo was a mere £12bn in March 2024, there is little to no scrutiny or investigation as to what the BoE are doing and whether these are creating the losses (sic fiscal black holes) that Parliament needs to cover via tax increases

Given the broad collapse of support for mainstream political parties, not just in the UK but across Europe, and the growing sense of impending crisis/collapse, The question is how long does the population remain inert before reaching for the pitchforks?

There is an increasing trend to telling people not to worry, everything's normal. Tax rises, votes for children, increasing immigration are all part of the plan and nothing to worry about. At least the B of E can hide behind the complexity of its activities, which are impenetrable to most folk.

All of this points to a more authoritarian style of government by the people who scream and shout to warn us about authoritarianism.
